When you are considering what kind of flooring to install and how to have it done, there are a number of factors that will doubtless play into your considerations.  However, there are some things that are important to ask when you have your Windows Floors & Decor flooring rep present in your home in order to ensure that you get the best flooring—and the best installation—to fit your particular set of circumstances.  Consider asking your flooring rep the following questions when he or she is in your home during your in-home consultation.

1. Does my home present any unusual challenges or unique considerations?

Your home is much like you are: it has similarities and dissimilarities with others of its kind.  Every home is slightly different, whether it’s from a varied floor plan or unusual foundation issues or even higher (or lower) than usual humidity levels in the air.  All of these things can impact the type of flooring that you may want to install, and the way in which you may want to have it installed.

If your home presents a unique challenge that will make a certain type of flooring impracticable, it’s best to know that beforehand so you don’t make the discovery after the flooring has been ordered and the installer is already in your house.  At best, this could result in increased costs to you due to the necessity of a more complicated install; at worst, it could mean that the flooring you have chosen simply won’t work very well in your home.

By being aware of any special challenges or considerations that a flooring installer will have when it comes to your home, you will be better equipped to make the correct choices before it becomes overly expensive to you.

2. What is the reputation of the flooring manufacturer?

Flooring is much like any other product: you can have varying levels of quality, and a deficiency in quality is not always immediately apparent to someone until after the purchase has been made.  You don’t want to find yourself in the position of having ordered flooring and had it installed only to discover down the road that it is of inferior quality and will need to be replaced.

It’s good to know about the manufacturer of the flooring.  How do its products hold up over time?  Do other customers have any complaints about the quality?  What venues do you have to seek relief if something goes wrong?

By knowing about the business you are ordering from, you can make better choices when it comes to the type of flooring to install.

3. Does your company offer any consumer protection?

Sometimes a flooring company goes the extra mile to offer its customers protection in the event of an unforeseen situation with the flooring.  Ask your flooring rep about Windows Floors & Decor’s consumer protection promise!
